St. Charles Borromeo

 

The commission structure for parish leadership was established at St. Charles Borromeo Parish in 2003 following an extensive planning process.  Both the parish council and the commissions operate out of a shared wisdom model based upon the insights that:

• Each person has a piece of the wisdom
• Nobody has it all and we have different pieces
• We are not trying to convert other to our own views

The implications of shared wisdom consist of the following aspects:

• Wisdom needs to be shared
• Wisdom needs to be heard
• We need to nourish a holy climate
• We must be willing to let go of the need
  • To control
  • To win
  • To be right
• But instead we need to risk the unfamiliar
