parish school
The St. Charles Borromeo
School Commission is comprised of ten members who coordinate
the work of seven standing committees.
Priorities and objectives for each committee are outlined in a strategic plan that is updated regularly with the input of faculty, staff, and parents of the school community. The standing committees are:
- Recruitment and Retention - This ministry works closely with the school and parish leadership with the goal of increasing and maintaining full enrollment at the parish school.
- Athletic Association - provides athletic activities and programs for students of grades school, high school and religious education programs.
- Budget - Assists the principal with the annual budget process.
- Parent Association - SCPA provides numerous informational meetings for parents of SCB students. The programs encourage the maintenance of high standards of family life and information to encourage the education and faith of the members’ children. SCPA provides support for the school in terms of fund raising and helps with various school activities.
- Policy - Works with principal and staff to create and update policies and procedures within the school.
- Technology - This ministry works closely with the school principal, school staff and parish leadership to bring the school up to date with the newest technology fiscally available. The committee will assist in the planning and maintenance of the computer lab and the technological needs of the school teachers.
- Alumni - This committee is under development. It’s purpose is to enhance communication between SCB and its Alumni.
The School Commission meets in the library on Common Meeting night
on the third Wednesday of the month. We gather at 6:30 p.m. for a
short prayer service and update in church before moving to the library.
