Prayer and Worship

The Prayer and Worship Commission serves as a liaison to the Parish Council and various Liturgical ministries. These ministries are as follows:

  • Art and Environment: This ministry is to prepare an environment that will move our faith community into dialogue with each other and with God.
     

  • Cantor Ministry: The cantors lead the community in worship in psalms, hymns and acclamation at Mass.
     

  • Children's Choir: The Children in grades 3 - 8 assist the community in worship.
     

  • Children's Handbell Choir: Children in grades 2-4 assist the community in worship.
     

  • Eucharistic Ministers: Eucharistic Ministers assist with the distribution of communion at weekday and weekend Masses and Holy days. They also assist with the distribution of ashes for Ash Wednesday.
     

  • Hospitality: This ministry consists of ushers and ministers of Hospitality who serve regularly at Mass and welcome and greet parishioners.
     

  • Lectors: Lectors proclaim the Word of God at worship.
     

  • Liturgy Planning: Help to plan seasonal liturgy themes and work closely with art and environment committee.
     

  • Order of Worship Collators: Collate and staple orders of worship booklets.
     

  • Parish Choir: The Parish Choir assists the community in worship through the gift of song.
     

  • Parish Handbell Choir: This ministry assists the community in worship through the artistry of bell ringing.
     

  • Resurrection Choir: Sing for funerals on a per available basis.
     

  • Sacristan: Prepare, clean, maintain, organize, and take inventory of liturgical materials.
     

  • Servers: Servers assist the priest/deacon/presider in providing a prayerful and meaningful experience of worship. This includes weekday and weekend Masses, Stations of the Cross, vespers, benedictions and funerals.
     

  • Youth Handbell Choir: Children in grades 5-8 may participate in the Advanced Bell Choir.
